San Diego Dockless Scooter Accident Lawyer

After the recent bombardment of San Diego city sidewalks with dockless rental bikes, dockless ebikes and dockless scooters, safety concerns have been raised.

In an article by the San Diego Union Tribune, the use of electric scooters, especially on sidewalks was questions.  The article looks at whether riding on sidewalks and without helmets is safe or even legal (both are illegal).

The San Diego Police Department told the Tribune that they have been enforcing laws and have issued citations to people riding bicycles or scooters on the side walks.  In beach areas the problem is especially acute, and as a result the police are citing people who are riding the scooters on the sidewalk.  The article also notes that many people have been seen running red lights in PB.

Part of the reason that many people ride on sidewalks is that this is commonly where the dockless scooters are found and it can be a bit scary to ride a scooter on a busy street.  Regardless, users should know that they can be cited for riding on the sidewalk or without a helmet.
